Welcome to Copperas Cove, “The City built for Family Living”. Our friendly community, nestled between five hills in Central Texas, is a wonderful place to call home! Founded in the 1870’s as a small rural ranching and farming community, Copperas Cove has now grown to be the largest city in Coryell County with more than 30,000 residents. The name Copperas Cove was inspired by water from a nearby spring that had a mineral taste. Two major events occurred in Copperas Cove’s history that gave a boost to the local economy and the population and improved Copperas Cove’s fortunes.
